Privacy notice
Cork Vegans is a volunteer-run community group in Cork. This notice explains what we collect, why, and who helps us handle it. Questions or requests: crkvgns@gmail.com.
Membership
When you join, we collect:
- your first and last name and your email address;
- how much you pay, and whether it's monthly or yearly;
- how you heard about us, if you tell us;
- whether you'd like us to keep you posted about events by email;
- your member code and whether your membership is active.
We use these to:
- run your membership and take your payments;
- send you your member code, and again if you ask for it;
- give you your member discount and early booking on Eventbrite;
- email you about events, only if you ticked that box. You can ask us to stop at any time.
We never see your card details. You enter them with Stripe, not on our website.
Who helps us
- Stripe takes your payments and keeps your membership record.
- Brevo sends your welcome email and member code. Brevo counts how many of these emails are opened and which links are clicked, but not who opened them.
- Eventbrite holds your member code so it works when you book. When you book, Eventbrite also has your booking details.
- Cloudflare runs the service behind the join form, and may check you're not a bot.
- Formspree delivers messages from our contact and volunteer forms.
Some of these companies are based outside the EU. They process your details for us under their own data protection terms.
On this website
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. Our fonts come from Google Fonts, so Google sees your IP address when your browser loads them. If you join or open the link in your welcome email, your member code is saved in your browser on that device, so links to Eventbrite on our events page can apply it for you. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes it.
How long we keep it
We keep your membership details while you're a member. After that, we keep only what we need for our accounts and delete the rest.
Your rights
You can ask to see the details we hold about you, to correct them, or to delete them. Email us at crkvgns@gmail.com and we'll reply within a month. If you're not happy with how we've handled your details, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission (opens in a new tab).
