Emma's wonderful animal illustrations

Hello and welcome to the very first post on our Stories page!

If you’ve visited corkvegans.ie lately, you might have noticed things look a bit different. We’ve given the website a proper refresh, and we wanted to take a minute to show you around and say a few thank yous.

A special thanks to Emma

First things first: a huge thank you to Emma Boruchowicz, who created the illustrations you’ll see around the site. Emma put real care into capturing what Cork Vegans is all about, and her work gives the site a warmth and personality we couldn’t have managed on our own. Thank you, Emma -we love them.

What’s new

Events, always up to date. Our upcoming events now pull straight from our Meetup group, so the site always shows what’s actually on. Monthly socials at My Goodness, climbing at Awesome Walls, potlucks, walks: if it’s on Meetup, it’s on the site. This area will also display our upcoming Eventbrite events too!

Stories. That’s where you are now. This is our new home for news, event recaps, restaurant reviews and stories from around Cork’s vegan community. Got something you’d like to write? Please get in touch.

Resources. One place for handy links, including our WhatsApp community and our Cork vegan food map of places to eat in and around the city.

Volunteer with us. There’s now a simple form on our Support page if you’d like to get involved. Whether it’s helping organise events, welcoming newcomers on the day, taking photos, writing, social media or outreach, no experience needed. Just tell us what you’re interested in and we’ll be in touch.

Membership, coming soon. We’re setting up memberships to help us run more events, including in paid venues. Members will get perks like priority event access and discounts on paid events! More on that shortly.

Easier to use everywhere. The site has been rebuilt to work well on phones and to be more accessible for everyone.

Come say hello

The best way to get involved is still the simplest: come along to an event. Check out what’s coming up on our Events page, join the WhatsApp community, and we’ll see you there.
